Welcome to Lacy’s Littles. I look forward to working with you to provide a quality and safe environment for your child.
PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of Lacy’s Littles is to provide each child a supportive and stimulating environment. I believe that the aspects of a child’s life are the most important and because of this I will try and expose the children to as much of life’s wonders as I can through this rich and diverse curriculum. Each child is unique and special in their own way and I recognize this. I offer activities on a daily basis that promote the development of the whole child. This includes the areas of language, social, physical, emotional, creative and intellectual development. My philosophy towards teaching a child is by allowing them to play. It is my job, as teacher, to help to expand that play, and help to teach them through that play. I also use the ``match plus one`` philosophy, which helps to add just one piece of information to what the child already knows. Children have the desire to learn and we just need to nurture that desire and watch that desire grow. It is my goal for the children of the Program to have a positive experience, to have fun while in my care, and if they learn something either intellectually or socially, then that is a plus!
The children in the care of Lacy’s Littles are a gift that you as parents/guardians let me borrow for a short time and I promise to cherish this gift and to treat them with respect and understanding. I believe that all children should be given the opportunity to come to the realization that they can do anything they set their minds to. This happens through guidance, patience, understanding, and caring. I feel confident in what the centre has to offer you and your child, but we need to work together as a team to make it work. Parents/guardians are the child’s best teachers and I believe you know your child best, so please help me make this the best possible center for you and your child. Children are our future; together we can help them to be the best that they can be.
